Assault
Charleston, CCSO release – On 7/29/19 at approximately 10:51 PM, Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at Seaport RV Park, located at 63301 Boat Basin Rd. Coos Bay, OR. Upon arrival, deputies contacted a 34 year old male identified as Justin D. Wills, who had swelling above his left eye. Wills stated he had been assaulted by his girlfriend, identified as 33 year old Brittany N. McDaniels. When deputies contacted McDaniels, she admitted to punching Wills multiple times in the head, causing the swelling. McDaniels was taken into custody for Assault Four Domestic. Upon a warrant check of Wills, it was determined he had a valid and confirmed warrant for his arrest for Failure to Appear. Both subjects were transported to Coos County Jail where they were lodged.

Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle
CBPD release – On July 24, 2019, at 9:25 PM, Coos Bay Police responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding a vehicle that had just been stolen. The caller reported being a witness to an altercation between a neighbor and a male subject which resulted in the neighbor’s vehicle being stolen.  An officer quickly arrived on scene and obtained information from the owner of the vehicle, relaying a description of the vehicle and male suspect to the other on duty officers. At 9:32 PM, only seven minutes after the initial 9-1-1 call, the stolen vehicle was observed in motion by a Coos Bay Police Officer. The officer initiated a traffic stop and subsequently took the driver, Trevar Reed, a 20-year-old male from Coos Bay, into custody for Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle and Probation Violation. Reed was transported to the Coos County Jail.
