Freshly caught Dungeness Crab is headed to processors along Oregon’s Coast as the commercial season gets underway after nearly a month delay.  State officials found low meat percentage during tests in late November and early December.  The commercial season normally begins Dec. 1st.  Commercial crabbers had to wait for the pre-soak period to begin and finally pots could be pulled by Jan. 4, 2019.  However, the Oregon fleet is also battling rough weather to begin their season that runs into August.
