News release CFPA.  Temperatures in Southwestern Oregon have finally cooled down a little, but the cooler temperatures have not decreased the fire danger. Fire danger will only decrease with measurable rain. Southwestern Oregon has not had measurable rain for over 50 days. Forest fuels are being stressed by the lack of rain, this means that live vegetation will now turn not just the dead fuels laying on the ground. With the current dry conditions people need to think about fire prevention when doing activities outdoors. Don’t let yourself be fooled by the foggy mornings, fire danger is high. Please remember to follow all public use restrictions when out in forest lands. For more information on fire danger levels and fire prevention information you can find CFPA on web at www.coosfpa.net, call the closure line at (541) 267-1789 or follow us on Facebook or Twitter.
