An 80-year old Coos Bay woman was struck and killed by a vehicle while in a crosswalk in the Portland area Thursday night, Jan. 22. Betty Sandra Glassman had just left Providence St. Vincent Medical Center after visiting her husband with her 54-year old daughter. The daughter, Sherry Glassman-Beebe, of Berkeley, CA, suffered minor injuries. A Washington Co. Sheriff’s Office spokesperson says the driver of the vehicle, 66-year old John Lawson of Aloha, was cited for Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian.
