Following devastating heavy rains, the Coos Co. Board of Commissioners have declared a local State of Emergency because of damage caused by the heavy rains/snow that damaged area roads with downed trees, powers lines, and landslides. The Declaration will now go to Oregon Governor Kate Brown seeking emergency assistance. An initial damage assessment by the county found nearly $740,000 in damages already.
