With a royal court holding the ribbon, plus a 21-gun salute by the Myrtle Pt. VFW, the 104th Annual Coos Co. Fair opened Tuesday in Myrtle Pt. The annual summertime event runs through Saturday night. The annual flag raising ceremony attracted Miss Coos Co., this year and last year’s Fair Queens, Miss Teen Coos Co. and this year’s Princesses for the Fair Court all who held the ribbon that was cut to kickoff the five-day event. Last minute preparation were still taking place, but the majority of the exhibits and displays were open as visitors enjoyed blue skies and warm weather. Thursday is free admission day until 3 p.m.
