The loss of the 42-foot commercial fishing vessel Mary B II Tuesday night while attempting to enter a rough Yaquina Bay Bar at Newport resulted in the death of three men.  Two were from New Jersey, 50-year old skipper Stephen Biernacki and crewmember 48-year old James Lacy.  The third member, Joshua Porter, was an experienced Oregon fisherman who was on his final trip with the Mary B II.  He reportedly had a new job lined up when he returned to Port.  Porter’s experience reached touched ports along the Oregon Coast.  He had also fished out of Brookings and had a tuna boat in Coos Bay.  The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating the capsizing.
