On 3-7-2019, Lincoln City Police responded to the report of a suspicious male attempting to use multiple credit cards at the Chinook Winds Casino. Officers contacted a male who was in possession of several credit cards with different names as well as an identification card for another male. Initially the suspect provided a false name to officers, but was later identified as 32 year-old Scott Richardson of Portland OR. Richardson was also found to be in possession of a small quantity of Heroin. A second male associated with Richardson was contacted at the Casino and identified as 31 year-old Brandon Savage of Milwaukie OR. Savage was in possession of several stolen credit cards and a stolen identification card. Through the investigation it was discovered that Richardson and Savage had been attempting to use the stolen credit cards at the Chinook Winds Casino. The investigation revealed most of the credit cards and identifications were stolen from the Portland area. Officers were able to contact the victims of the stolen cards and identification cards and are currently working to return the property to the rightful owners. Richardson and Savage were arrested and transported to the Lincoln County Jail. Richardson was lodged on charges of Unlawful Possession of Heroin, Identity Theft, Misuse of Identification and Probation Violation. Savage was lodged on charges of Identity Theft, Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card and Theft III. The Lincoln City Police are continuing their investigation in this incident.
