The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality invites the public to submit written comments on the  conditions of Southport Lumber Co. LLC’s proposed air quality permit, known officially as a Standard Air Contaminant Discharge Permit. Summary – The proposed permit replaces the facility’s existing General Air Contaminant Discharge Permit. The proposed permit includes the installation of additional dry kilns, and allows increased emissions of volatile organic compounds and hazardous air pollutants. These pollutants are primarily emitted from lumber in the dry kilns. How do I participate?
