Hwy. 101/Bandon, CCSO release – On February 7th, 2019 at approximately 12:42 AM, Deputies were dispatched to multiple reports of a female subject running in traffic and attempting to enter vehicles that were traveling on Highway 101 near milepost 261, just north of Bandon. A Deputy arrived in the area and observed a female subject standing in the south bound lane flailing her arms in the air. When the Deputy tried to contact the female subject she began to run towards the Deputy and his vehicle screaming incoherent words and obscenities. The Deputy had to restrain the female subject and attempted to place her under arrest. While doing so the female subject pulled away multiple times, and attempted to push the Deputy away. The Deputy was able to gain control and place the female subject in handcuffs without injury to him or the female subject. The female subject was later identified as 32 year old Toni Gaughan, and it was learned she was involved in a single vehicle crash near Highway 101 and North Bank Rd earlier that evening. Haughan was charged with Disorderly Conduct II, and will be referred to the Coos County District Attorney’s Office for Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver.
