On Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at about 3:25 p.m., a Sheriff’s Office Detective was in the Green District attempting to serve an arrest warrant for Parole Violation on Jonathon Wilkerson, age 40 of Roseburg. The Detective attempted to stop Wilkerson, who was driving a blue Toyota Van, on Kylee Lane. Wilkerson refused to stop and continued driving onto Carnes Road. A marked patrol car pursued the vehicle as it drove north on Carnes Road. Once Wilkerson reached the end of Carnes Road, he drove onto the bike path and then the railroad tracks. The deputies were not able to continue the pursuit. On May 24th, at about 11:20 p.m., a patrol deputy attempted to stop a blue 1985 Mazda 2-door sedan for a traffic violation in the 3000 block of Happy Valley Road. The vehicle refused to stop and a slow speed pursuit began. The vehicle continued on Happy Valley Road for about 1.5 miles before coming to a stop. The driver, Jonathon Wilkerson, was taken into custody and lodged in the county jail on 2 counts of Eluding in a Vehicle and the Parole Violation warrant.
