The Oregon Department of Forestry is hosting a presentation and question-and-answer session on the draft revised Western Oregon State Forest Management Plan from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Dec. 4 in Salem. This session will serve as an introduction to the revised plan, which is intended to increase financial and conservation outcomes on the approximately 613,000 acres of Board of Forestry land covered under the plan. The plan revision area covers lands owned by the Board of Forestry west of the Cascade Mountains, including the Tillamook, Clatsop, and Santiam state forests. At the session, attendees will have the opportunity to learn the basic framework of the draft plan, ask questions and provide input to the project team. Please note that comments on the plan can also be submitted by email or letter through Jan. 31, 2020. The draft plan will be released on Dec. 2 and will be posted to the project page at https://www.oregon.gov/ODF/AboutODF/Pages/FMP-revision.aspx.
