News release from SCINT. After observing a wanted fugitive, Joey Gish, in the Charleston Boat Basin, SCINT detectives arrested Joey Gish and Amy Thomas in front of the Captain John’s Motel. Gish was arrested for warrants out of Coos, Curry, and Douglas Counties. Amy Thomas was arrested for warrants out of Marion County. Detectives learned that the two were also associated with a motel room, and a subsequent investigation led police to contact the occupants of the motel room. During a search of the motel room and a 2000 Mercedes coupe, police seized over $14,000.00, two and a half ounces of crystal methamphetamine, heroin, scales, and two firearms. The occupants of the motel room, Jerrol Thomas and Christina Arreola (both from Stockton, California) were arrested for possession and delivery of methamphetamine as well as possession of heroin. SCINT was assisted by the Coquille Tribal Police and K9 “Stormy”, Coos Bay Police, Coos County Sherriff’s Office, and the Oregon State Police.
