Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert has been named one of 20 semifinalists for the Maxwell Award, Maxwell Football Club President Mark Dianno announced on Monday, Oct. 29.  Herbert has thrown a touchdown pass in 23 consecutive games, the longest streak in the nation. The 2017 first-team CoSIDA Academic All-American also was named to the final 15 for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award last week. Herbert earned a spot on the list by completing 155-of-260 passes for 2,069 yards and 20 touchdowns through Oregon’s first eight games. The junior ranks in the top 25 in the nation in six different offensive categories. Semifinalist voting will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 31, and will close on Nov. 18. Three finalists will be announced on Nov. 19 and a second round of voting will take place at that time.
