Round Lake Rd., CCSO release – On January 30, 2019, at about 11:48 PM, Bandon Police Department and the Coos County Sheriff’s Office responded to Round Lake Drive and Randolph Road at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in response to a report of a crash where the driver was possibly Driving Under the Influence of an Intoxicant (DUII). Upon arrival, deputies located a vehicle off the road and slightly down an embankment, partially blocking a lane of travel. 25 year old Kyle Strickland and 24 year old Sean Adams denied operating the motor vehicle. Both men stated a mystery subject had been driving the vehicle and had fled upon it being crashed. However, a witness observed Strickland trying to remove the vehicle, while Adams was pushing the vehicle. The vehicle had been moved about two feet before it was finally stuck. The state of Oregon recognizes that any operation of a vehicle is considered driving under the law, to include operation of any internal controls or pushing of the vehicle causing movement. Both men were arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants for their part in moving the vehicle. Both men provided breath samples which showed them to have a BAC of .16%. Both men were lodged at the Coos County Jail.
