Bastendorff Beach Rd., CCSO release – On 7/28/19 at approximately 11:03 PM, Deputies contacted a subject in a vehicle located in the day use area at Bastendorff Beach Rd. Deputies learned the subject, identified as 33 year old Phillip Ryan Krueger had a valid warrant for his arrest. While waiting for the confirmation of the warrant, Krueger started his vehicle and left the scene at a high rate of speed, after he had been advised he was not free to leave. Deputies lost sight of the suspect vehicle and attempted to locate it in the area. The Deputy observed the vehicle coming towards him and had to pull off the roadway to avoid a collision due to the driver swerving towards him. The Deputy lost sight of the suspect vehicle again while turning around. A short time later, Deputies observed the vehicle traveling south-bound on Seven Devils Rd at a high rate of speed. The Deputy conducted a traffic stop and the subject accelerated to speeds over 75 M.P.H. The vehicle lost control and left the roadway crashing rear end first into a tree. Krueger was taken into custody and refused medical treatment. Kreuger was charged with two counts of Attempt to Elude, one charge of Reckless Driving and one charge of attempted Assault One.
