The Empire Blvd. project will start up again on May 1, 2017 and will be completed by July 31, 2017. It is anticipated it will take approximately 90 days to complete the remaining improvements. The scope will widen the roadway section to provide bikes lanes and sidewalks on both sides of the street. The project will also provide a covered structure at the Coos County Area Transit (CCAT) bus stop on Empire Boulevard. Street lighting, benches, and other improvements would be provided to make the boulevard more attractive and user friendly for bicycle and pedestrian usage. Business access will be maintained throughout the limits of the project, and local residence will maintain access to their residence.
