Good Friday morning.  Looks like another wet “Weekend in the West.”  Highs not that warm, lows, not that cold and winds light and variable.  Hey, it’s Valentine’s Day and it is also Oregon’s birthday.  Our great state entered the Union in 1859.  Oregon Historical Society has a nice display open to the public this weekend for free.  The right to vote for women highlighted during a special showing at the Egyptian Theater in downtown Coos Bay.  Foreign Film Friday at CBPL.  A beach cleanup is scheduled for the Central Coast.  Spanglish at CBPL Saturday and Film Noir on Sunday at CBPL.  Elections director reminds voters that no stamps necessary to mail in your mail in ballot.  I’ve been waiting for this, Girl Scout cookies should be in the Bay Area this weekend.  Got to check out that new Lemon flavor!  Some news for anglers.  Raising money for a K9 unit on the Central Coast.  New CBPD officer ready to graduate from the Academy.  Repeat offender off to prison.  Human trafficking charges in Roseburg.  In sports, prep schedules for the weekend.  SWOCC basketball out of town Saturday.  Ducks and Beavers get Pac-12 wins last night.  Women’s teams play tonight.  Have a great weekend and thank you for reading.    Matt
