News release CBDA.  Join the Coos Bay Downtown Association (CBDA) on May 3rd, as we kick off the 2017 season for the Coos Bay Farmers Market. The weekly event is located on Central Avenue, operating between 9am to 2pm on Wednesdays, from May through October. This popular event brings high-quality, Oregon-produced items to the downtown district. Vendors offer a variety of Items that include locally grown produce, handmade craft items,ready-to-eat food, and more. With a goal of “farm fresh for every fork,” the market accepts SNAP-EBT and WIC benefits, and several vendors also accept Senior Farm Direct Nutrition vouchers. The Coos Bay Farmers Market also participates in the Double Up Food Bucks program through the Farmers Market Fund. This program will provide Oregon Trail participants who spend $10 of SNAP dollars, with a match up to $10 per market day, which can be used to purchase more locally grown fruits and vegetables. Tokens can be redeemed at the market information booth located on Central Avenue next door to Jenny’s Shoes. This year, our CBDA member and partner, So It Goes Coffeehouse, will be sponsoring the Coos Bay Farmers Market Music Series during the Farmers Market. Each week the series will bring a variety of lively music and entertainment starting with Rhy O’Drinnan.  Show your love and support for the Coos Bay Farmers Market, and Downtown Coos Bay, by purchasing a branded tote bag at the first market. Rain or shine, we welcome the community to join us at the Coos Bay Farmers Market as we shop, eat, and mingle in downtown Coos Bay!
