Marshfield and Siuslaw finally got their 2018 Far West League softball opener in Thursday in Coos Bay. The Lady Pirates jumped out to an early lead and held on for a 10-6 win over the visiting Vikings. Freshman Sterling Williams had a three-run homer in the first to highlight Marshfield’s at bats. The game was originally slated for Florence on Tuesday, but rained out and finally moved to Coos Head Field. The two teams are scheduled to play again Friday, 3 & 5 p.m. back at Coos Head Field in Coos Bay.
