A Household Hazardous Waste Event is taking place Saturday, Sept. 23, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Beaver Hill Transfer Site, off Hwy. 101, south of Coos Bay. Coos & Curry county residents can dispose of various household chemicals at a FREE Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event. Call to make an appointment to drop off your household hazardous waste. Call between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22. The collection event allows residents to safety dispose of a wide range of materials such as poisons, pesticides, solvents, fluorescent lights, pool chemicals, aerosol cans, caustic cleaners, mercury thermometers and flammable liquids. No industrial or commercial waste will be accepted.
