On July 2, 2015 at about 2:20PM, OSP Troopers and emergency crews responded to the report of a single vehicle rollover on HWY 140 at milepost 24 (east of White City). Preliminary information indicates a 2001 GMC pickup, operated by Carl T MORRIS, age 69, of Eagle Point, was traveling westbound when it is believed a bird flew into his open window. MORRIS became distracted by the bird in the cab of his pickup, causing him to lose control. The vehicle rolled over and came to rest on its roof in the ditch. MORRIS was extricated from the vehicle by emergency crews and taken by air ambulance to a Medford area hospital where he later died. MORRIS had been wearing his safety belt.
