ID Theft, CBPD news release. On Sunday, February 18, 2018, a Coos Bay Police Officer located a black in color Volkswagen Bug that had been reported stolen out of Eugene. The Officer was aware the vehicle may have been in the local area after the victim reported her credit cards, which were stolen with the vehicle, had been used early Sunday morning in Coos Bay. The Officer stopped the vehicle in North Bend near the Coca-Cola Distribution Center. The operator was identified as Keith Joseph Randel of Eugene. Randel was arrested and taken to the Coos County Jail where he was booked on the alleged crimes of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Identity Theft, and Unauthorized Use of Credit Card.
