Marshfield’s girls repeated as champions of the annual Les Schwab Tires South Coast Holiday Basketball Tournament at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay Saturday. The Lady Pirates beat Astoria in the finals 44-19. Marshfield beat Philomath in the semi-finals Friday, 71-49. La Salle Prep, from Milwaukie, beat Marshfield’s boys 51-41 to win the other title. The Pirates downed Philomath 64-58 in overtime Friday to advance to the finals. Marshfield’s boys head to Alaska to play in the Wasilla HS Tournament Dec. 20-22. The Lady Pirates head to Arizona Dec. 27-28 for four games.
