On February 09, 2017, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Roseburg Police Department, arrested 30 year old Marvin Thomas Shoemaker II of Sutherlin, after he had been soliciting with what he believed to be a child for sexual contact via the Internet. Shoemaker II had made arrangements to meet with the assumed child, but was contacted by law enforcement when he arrived at the location. He was taken into custody without incident and lodged at the Douglas County Jail. Shoemaker II is charged with Online Sexual Corruption of a Child 1 and Luring a Minor.
