Booster Clubs
The Marshfield and North Bend booster clubs meet today at noon. The Bulldog backers will gather at the high school’s Hall of Champions, and the Pirate supporters will meet at Abby’s Pizza in Coos Bay.

Marshfield’s boys took first place at a prep golf tournament at Watson Ranch, south of Coos Bay Monday. The Pirates shot a team total 325, followed by North Bend with 391. Marshfield’s Preston Luckman took medalist honors with an 18-hole total of 74. Gold Beach’s Brennen Eilke was runner-up with an 81. He was followed by three Pirates: Kasey Banks (83), Jacob Klein (83), and Cody Easton (85). Garrett Ereth led the Bulldogs with a 94. North Valley had the only complete girl’s team, but also took medalists honors with their own Tristin Vandehey, who shot an even 100. North Bend’s Brooklyn Dunham (120) and Brianna Duff (124) were sixth and seventh respectively.

It took nine innings, but North Bend’s softball team remained unbeaten on the 3015 prep season with a 7-6 win over visiting Coquille Tuesday at the Oak Street Fields. The No. 7 Bulldogs (5-0) host Junction City Thursday.
