News release MHS AD Greg Mulkey.  We will celebrate the 2018 OSAA 4A Girls State Basketball Champions Friday, April 20th.  Please open the PDF file for more information. The Lady Pirates won their first basketball state title in the history of the program.  We will honor the 2018 team with a dinner, auction and awards on the 20th. As part of this celebration, we are extremely excited to have University of Oregon’s Lexi Bando as our key note speaker.  Please open lexibando jpg.  Lexi graduated from Willamette High School where she won two OSAA state championships.  She just completed her fourth year as part of the University of Oregon’s Women’s Basketball Program.  Lexi earned several honors while playing for the Ducks in the PAC 12 Conference. Her team made it to the elite 8 this year, losing to the National Champions, Notre Dame in the round of 8. Currently, she is waiting for a call from the WNBA, Womens’ National Basketball Association hoping to be drafted.  Lexi was excited to be our speaker on April 20th. She recalls her time playing in Pirate Palace as a high school athlete and had wonderful things to say about Marshfield. Note:  Dinner must be reserved no later than Monday, April 16.  Tickets are $40 which includes dinner and all of the excitement.  A portion of the $40 will be returned to the girls basketball program.  Please contact Sandy Reiber in the athletic office if you would like to attend.
