Marshfield Jazmin Chavez was a double winner at the Frank Good Preamble Classic eight-team track & field meet at Sutherlin Thursday. The sophomore won the 1500 (5:26.86h) and the 3000 (11:42.63h). She also ran a leg on the winning 4X400R team with Tess Garrett, Khaley Aguilar and Hannah Beaulieu (4:33.59h). Khaley Aguilar was also that winning long relay team, and the short relay as well with Kaylee Delzotti, Tess Garrett and Hannah Beaulieu (53.37h). The sophomore also won the 100H (16.62h), and the Pole Vault (10-06). On the boy’s side, sophomore Tristin Lemmons won the 300IH (43.77h), and the 800 (2:07.72h), while senior Trevor Johnson won the Long Jump (20-03.50) and the 100 (11.58h). The next meet for Marshfield is the Peterson Memorial Invitational April 1st.
NBHS tr
North Bend’s track team competed at the Siuslaw Icebreaker on Thursday in Florence. Five teams competed along with the host Vikings and Bulldogs. Freshman Chelsea Howard won both the 100 (13.81) and the 200 (28.87). Sophomore Haley Edwards won both the 100H (17.70) and the 300LH (51.91). On the boy’s side, senior Michael Brown won both the 1500 (4:14.55) and the 3000 (9:21.44). The Bulldogs next compete at the Peterson Memorial Invitational April 1.
