Marshfield’s wrestling team went 5-2 at the Oregon Classic in Redmond over the weekend. The Pirates jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first day in head-to-head match-ups, but on Saturday, the Pirates lost to La Grande 45-30 in the quarterfinals, came back against another Eastern Oregon team in downing Baker in the consolation semi-finals. In the consolation finals for fifth place, Cascade beat Marshfield 42-36. The Pirates travel to Hillsboro this Saturday to compete in the Reser Tournament of Champions.

North Bend’s wrestlers placed eighth at the Nick Lutz Invitational Saturday in Florence. Siuslaw placed fifth, while Elmira won the team title. The Bulldogs Coltyn Ringen took second at 132 lbs.
