MHS release – Our Upbeats have finally reached the week of the OSAA State Competition.  Since they began in August, they have spent hours preparing this year’s state routine for Saturday, March 16 at Memorial Coliseum in Portland.  The team, led by head coach Breann Ford and assisted by Alyssa Wisniewski, Ashley Everetts and Maliyah Miller are set to perform this weekend.  In the past, the team has had two opportunities to perform.  The OSAA changed the format from two performances to only one opportunity to present their best routine. This year our team has steadily improved in their scores at regional competition.  They placed 2nd at the Sheldon event and 1st at the Thurston competition held two weeks ago.  In their classification, there are 5-6 teams only separated by 1-2 points going into the OSAA State Competition this weekend.  The Upbeats are ready to perform their best and eager to see the outcome after all performances. The Upbeats includes: Elise Martin, Payton Davidson, Parker Stocker, Callista Martin, Madison Mede, McKena Pederson, Celeste Cardoza, Sammie Zhu, Kiya Weatherly, Heather Eckley, Serena Ellis, Aurora Johnson & Morgan Billeter.
