On Wednesday, August 14, 2019 exploratory borings will be drilled at four locations around Mingus Pond. This work is part of the preliminary investigation required to design fishing piers at these locations.
A small drill rig supported by a pickup and gear trailer will traverse to each site via the walking path. Borings will be located close to the edge of the pond. The work area for each boring will be coned off to minimize public interference and for the safety of those utilizing the walking path. We ask that the general public stay out of the work area during the drilling and sampling operations. A portion of the walking path will remain open at each location during this work. Work will be completed by the end of the day Wednesday. Hours of work will include 7:00 AM through 6:00 PM on that day. This work is being accomplished for the City of Coos Bay by the Galli Group, Geotechnical Consults in conjunction with the project design engineers, ZCS Engineers.
