The Coos County Women’s Health Coalition will be hosting their 8th annual Let’s Walk and Talk Together Mother’s Day Walk on Saturday, May 7, 2016. The FREE walk is open to all and is sponsored by the Zonta Club of Coos Bay, the Coos County Women’s Health Coalition, Southwestern Oregon Community College, Bay Area Hospital, South Coast Striders, and Bay Cities Ambulance. On Saturday, May 7th, the event will be held from 9:00-11:30 a.m. at Mingus Park in Coos Bay. It includes a free community walk, performers, exhibitors, music, raffle prizes and more. Last year’s event attracted over 250 participants and 20 exhibitors. The goal of the Women’s Health Coalition is to promote a healthy lifestyle for the women of Coos County. The Walk and Talk event is supported with funding from the Coos Bay Area Zonta Service Foundation. Additional supporters include Southwestern Oregon Community College, South Coast Striders, Bay Cities Ambulance and Bay Area Hospital. This year’s event kicks-off National Women’s Health Week May 8-14, 2016. The goal of the week is to empower women to make their health a priority; helping them to understand what steps they can take to improve their health.
