North Bend Football will hold its’ end of the year Awards Banquet on Monday, December 15th at 7:00pm at the North Bend Community Center. As always, it is a potluck style dinner so families are encouraged to bring along their favorite dish to share with others. Coast Classic wr
Crook Co. won the two-day annual Coast Classic wrestling tournament at North Bend High School Friday and Saturday. The Cowboys bettered Roseburg 267.5 to 250.0 for the title. Marshfield (123) placed eighth and crowned two champions and one runner-up. Cole Smith (106) and AJ Lira (113) won their weight classes, while Travis Wittlake Jr. (152) took second. Other Pirate placers were Tyler Campbell (120) fifth; Cade Hite (126) won three and lost two; Will Forbes (138) 1-2; Justin Gerhardt (145) 2-2; Logan Entgelmeier (160) 1-2; Joey Vigue (182) 2-2; Mark Culp (195) 3-2; Chris Alonzo (220) two byes, two losses; Mason Jussila (285) two byes, two losses. North Bend (18) was 26th out of the 30 teams participating. Bulldog wrestlers: Coltyn Ringen (106) one bye 1-2; Mark Deane (120) 2-2; Shane Keeling (145) one bye, two losses; Michael Button (152) bye and 0-2; Aaron Wagner (170) bye 1-2; Talon Merrit (170) bye and 1-1; Dakota Moore (182) bye and 1-1; Jake Buck (182) bye and 1-2.

NB Swim Invite
North Bend’s girls dominated the annual North Bend Swim Invitational Saturday at the North Bend Municipal Pool. The Bulldogs won 10 of the 11 events en route to 405-points. Roseburg was second at 195. Marshfield’s girls were fifth. Roseburg won the boy’s portion of the meet with Roseburg second and North Bend third. Marshfield was sixth.

North Bend’s basketball teams got a split at Newport Friday in a pair of non-conference games. The boys improved to 2-0 with a 43-24 win, but the girls fell to 1-1 with a one-point loss, 65-64 to the Cubs. Cam Lucero led the Bulldog boys with 18, while Hailey Finnegan was tops for the girls with 15. North Bend next hosts Cottage Grove Tuesday night.

Marshfield’s basketball teams advanced to the finals of the Junction City/Cottage Grove Holiday Basketball Tournament Friday night with a pair of wins over Cottage Grove. The Pirates faced Junction City in both the boys and girls championship games Saturday night. On Friday, the boys beat the Lions for the second time in three days, this time by a 65-56 score. Marshfield (4-1) jumped out to a 21-point lead early, but CG rallied in the second half to cut the lead to six in the fourth. Senior Hunter Olson scored 20. The Lady Pirates lost to Cottage Grove Tuesday by three-points, but this time Marshfield (3-2) rallied late, outscoring the Lions 14-4 in the fourth to secure a 47-39 win. Senior Jade Chavez scored 22. In the championship games Saturday night, Marshfield’s (4-2) girls bettered Junction City 32-22 to win the title at JC. Senior Katelyn Rossback scored 13. At Cottage Grove, Marshfield (4-2) lost to Junction City 63-60 in overtime in the championship game. Junior Rylee Trendell scored 17. The Pirate teams host Tillamook Friday.
