PORTLAND, Ore. — NW Natural employees and retirees are starting 2020 strong by supporting their favorite nonprofits. Together with a 100% company match from the shareholder Corporate Philanthropy Fund, employees and retirees have committed to contributing $300,000 to local charities through NW Natural’s annual Spirit of Giving campaign this year. “Giving back to the communities where we live and work is an important part of who we are at NW Natural,” said Mary Moerlins, NW Natural’s community affairs manager. “We couldn’t be more proud of our employees and retirees who give back through donations during our annual giving campaign and volunteer year-round at local organizations to make a difference.” Last year NW Natural employees volunteered more than 4,500 hours at local charities and helped raise an additional $21,000 in shareholder funds as part of the NW Natural Dollars for Doers employee-matching program. The Spirit of Giving and Dollars for Doers’ funds will be distributed to nonprofit partners such as Oregon Food Bank, Portland Homeless Family Solutions and Oregon Humane Society over the coming year.
