The Oregon State women’s track and field squad was honored late Tuesday for its impressive work in the classroom when the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the Beavers as one of its 2014 Division I All-Academic Track & Field Teams.  A total of 208 institutions earned the distinction as a result of having a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or higher. With a 3.59 mark, Oregon State owned the fifth-highest GPA out of all 208 schools and had the best grades out of the five Pac-12 universities on the list.  This year’s GPA was a tad higher than 2013’s 3.58, which tied for third in the country.  The recognition marks the 10th consecutive year OSU has earned team academic accolades after another successful track and field season. The school’s cross country team has also nabbed the same honor for 10 straight years.  Top Five USTFCCCA All-Academic T&F Teams (Cumulative GPA):  1. San Francisco 3.63; 2. Lipscomb 3.61; 2. New Mexico 3.61; 4. Bradley 3.60; 5. Oregon State 3.59.
