OSAA 4A Boys Rankings
The 40 4A high school boys basketball teams within the Oregon Schools Activities Association (OSAA) membership are entering league play this week following a busy preseason for the seven leagues.  The Cowapa League, which had the No. 1 & 2 teams last season in Seaside & Valley Catholic, had the most success of all of the leagues with a 52-23 preseason record.  Four of the Cowapa League’s teams are ranked in the Top 20, including No. 1 Banks (13-0), No. 3 Valley Catholic (11-3), No. 5 Seaside (10-2), and No. 4 Tillamook (9-3).  Those are also the four best records in the 4A ranks.  The Sky-Em League has the second best preseason record at 42-40, followed by the Far West League 37-44, Skyline Conference 37-40, Oregon West 33-40, Greater Oregon 29-26 (four teams), and the Tri-Valley 19-43.   Marshfield (8-6) is No. 4, and North Bend (6-7) is No. 15.

OSAA 4A Girls Rankings
Three of the seven 4A girls OSAA girls basketball leagues had winning preseasons.  Entering league play this week, the Oregon West Conference led the way at 52-21, followed by Skyline 44-33, and Cowapa 39-35.  The Far West League went 38-43, Tri-Valley 30-46, SkyEm 29-47 & Greater Oregon 25-29.  No. 3 Banks & No. 4 Baker have the best records entering league play at 11-1 & 12-1 respectively.  Marshfield (12-2) is ranked No. 1, followed by No. 2 Hidden Valley (13-2).
