On Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at approximately 8:25 PM Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to a commercial motor vehicle that had struck a pedestrian on Interstate 5 near mile post 34. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2014 Freightliner was traveling southbound on Interstate 5 when it struck a pedestrian. The operator of the commercial motor vehicle is fully cooperating with the investigation. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
