Marshfield’s volleyball team swept two opponents in a three-way set up at the Pirate Palace in Coos Bay with visiting Phoenix and Reedsport. The Lady Pirates beat the Southern Oregon Pirates (Phoenix) 3-0 in the first match. Reedsport came-from-behind to also beat Phoenix 3-2. That set up the final match, and Marshfield prevailed 25-18, 25-19 & 25-23. The 4A Lady Pirates (3-0) compete in the Cascade Tournament on Saturday in Turner. North Bend dropped a 5A Midwestern League match at North Eugene Thursday, 3-1 (25-10, 25-18, 22-25, 25-12). The Bulldogs (1-1, 2-1) play at Springfield next Tuesday.
