A 4.0-magnitude earthquake was recorded on the outside fault line of the two that run parallel with the Oregon Coast early Friday morning, March 16. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located within the Cascadia Subduction Zone and west to northwest of Coos Bay. It did not produce a tsunami warning.
