The two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast were shaking with a couple of earthquakes.  According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 4.2-magnitude quake was recorded Wednesday, May 30, on the outer fault line west of Ferndale, CA.  A 2.8-magnitude quake followed early Thursday morning, May 31.  It was also located west of Ferndale, CA, but closer to Cape Mendocino.
