News Release from the City of Coos Bay.  “Shortly after 3:30 am, Wednesday morning, the Coos Bay Fire Department responded to the report of a fire in a Recreational Vehicle near Prefontaine and Fulton Avenue.  Firefighters found the RV full of black smoke and three to six foot flames leaping from the middle of the vehicle. The fire was quickly isolated and brought under control with no damage to neighboring property.  Fire investigators determined that the fire originated in or around the refrigerator motor.   Flame and smoke damage to the 30 year old, 36 foot RV owned by Don and Diane Crawford of 701 Prefontaine is estimated to exceed $10,000 in total loss.”
