Public schools in the Empire District of Coos Bay were locked out on Friday, Sept. 6, at 11:30 a.m. because of a law enforcement chase of a wanted individual who ran into the woods south of both Sunset Middle School and Madison Elementary School. The individual was located and taken into custody. The lockout was lifted at 12:40 p.m.
