The East beat the West 29-23 last Saturday night in Baker City at the 65th Annual East-West Shrine Football Game featuring graduated players from Oregon’s 1A/2A/3A/4A classifications.The East outscored the West 29-10 in the second half.  North Bend grad Brody Lucero, who led the Bulldogs to their first state championship last fall, threw two touchdown passes in the game, one to Salem Academy’s Skyler Williams in the second quarter covering 14-yards for a 7-0 West lead.  Lucero then put the West in front again in the third with a 62-yard scoring pass to Scappoose’s Nate Rieman.  The two connected on a 65-yard pass-catch play later setting up the West’s final lead with a 26-yard field goal by Dayton’s Oscar Rosas at 23-21 with 4:59 to go in the game.  Lucero threw for 184-yards, and Rieman had five catches for 169-yards.  It was the third straight win for the East in the series they lead at 32-30-3.  Proceeds from the game benefit the Portland Shriners Hospital for Children.
