The 14th Annual South Coast Les Schwab Basketball Tournament gets underway at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay with 16 boys and girls teams from around the state. The championship games are set for Saturday afternoon & evening. The tourney opens at 4 p.m. with Sutherlin and Coquille’s girls in the Harding Gym, and North Valley & Gladstone’s girls in the Main Gym. North Bend’s girls play Madras in the Harding at 7 p.m., followed by the Bulldog boys and Philomath at 8:30 p.m. Marshfield’s girls open with Junction City in the Main Gym at 7 p.m., followed by the Pirate boys and North Valley at 8:30 p.m. Consolation games begin Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. Donating lodging for the tournament teams again this year are” The Mill Casino/Hotel/RV Park, Best Western Motel 6, Red Lion & Edgewater Inn.
