Southwestern Oregon Community College hosts its 57th annual commencement on Friday, June 15, 2018. The 2018 Class includes 390 graduates from 22 states and 6 countries. Graduates will leave Southwestern with a variety of degrees and certificates in science, business, arts and other fields. Graduates have earned 186 Associates of Arts Oregon Transfer and 6 Associates of Science Oregon Transfer degrees and will move on to bachelor’s degree programs; 160 will receive Associate of Applied Science degrees; 125 will receive Associate of General Studies degrees; 116 Associate of Science degrees; and 145 students also earned Certificates of Completion. Capitalizing on Southwestern’s University Center in partnership with the Oregon University System, students are able to remain on the south Oregon coast and pursue bachelor’s and master’s degrees. In 2018, two students will graduate with bachelor’s degrees in psychology and early childhood education from Eastern Oregon University. Also, two students will receive master’s degrees in education and one student a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern Oregon University.
