An Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) adult in custody, Mark Mryczko, died on the afternoon of February 11, 2019. Mryczko was incarcerated at Oregon State Penitentiary and passed away in the infirmary while on Hospice. As with all in-custody deaths, the Oregon State Police have been notified. Mryczko entered DOC custody on November 13, 2014, from Lincoln County, with an earliest release date of December 2, 2021. Mryczko was 46 years old. DOC takes all in-custody deaths seriously. The agency is responsible for the care and custody of 14,700 individuals who are incarcerated in 14 institutions across the state. Next of kin has been notified.
