City of Coos Bay release – On June 6, 2019, the City of Coos Bay’s Wastewater Treatment Plant #2 (WWTP #2) located at 490 Fulton Avenue had an air valve malfunction which disrupted the treatment process at the plant. The next day, the air valve was fixed. Throughout the weekend, fecal coliform tests were taken which yielded favorable results and chemicals were added to the UV system to aid disinfection. The plant quickly recovered, and it is anticipated that all water quality permit parameters for the month of June will be met.
