North Coos Waterfront, winners of the American Legion ‘A’ Area IV North baseball race, ended the regular season with a doubleheader sweep of visiting North Medford, Friday, 5-4, & 4-3, at Clyde Allen Field in North Bend. North Coos (21-12) next plays Wednesday at the State Tournament in Medford.
All-State BB Honors
Far West League baseball champion North Bend had four players honored with post season All State selections in voting by the state’s 4A coaches. Senior Tylan Corder was named First Team All State Outfielder. The Bulldogs’ senior Catcher, Zach Inskeep was named to the Second Team. Jon Bennison, a junior, was named a Third Team Pitcher and Honorable Mention honors went to senior Pitcher Hunter Jackson.
All-State SB Honors
Marshfield had two players named to All State softball teams for the 2014 prep season following voting by the state’s 4A coaches. Juniors Jade Chavez, Second Team, and Katelynn Rossback, Third Team, were selected. Chavez was an Outfielder for the Pirates and Rossback played Short Stop.
