The 300-acre Bone Mountain Fire is burning six miles south of Remote. The Coos Forest Protective Association is fighting the fire. Resources include: three bulldozers, one helicopter, five 10-person private landowner hand crews and two 10-person inmate hand crews.  The 40-acre Camas Creek Fire burning about seven miles northeast of Remote is also being fought by the Coos Forest Protective Association. Resources include: two fire engines, four 10-person hand crews, five water tenders, two bulldozers and one helicopter. Adjacent Oregon Department districts and the Douglas Forest Protective Association are assisting with the firefighting effort.
