Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into Tuesday afternoon’s single vehicle traffic crash that serious injured an elderly Eugene woman along Highway 126W near Walton in Lane County. On August 5, 2014 at approximately 12:45 p.m., a 2013 Toyota RAV sport utility vehicle driven by DORIS JONES, age 77, from Eugene, was eastbound on Highway 126W near milepost 30. As the vehicle came out of a curve it veered off the pavement and struck a rock embankment head-on before coming to an abrupt stop. JONES was extricated by local fire emergency responders and transported by air ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend with serious injuries. She is reportedly in the intensive care unit.
